The CrossFit Games History – Garage Gym Builder
updated January 1, 2019
The CrossFit Games History, how everything began? The CrossFit Games are an athletic competition sponsored by CrossFit Inc and Reebok. They were founded in 2007 and have been held every year since. They exist solely to find the Fittest On Earth and competitors need to be ready for anything.
The Athletes at the Games aren’t able to train the same way they would in other competitions. They learn about the events days (sometimes hours) beforehand, and the Games include surprise elements that aren’t a regular part of CrossFit.
The Games themselves consist of 3 stages: the Open, the Regionals, and the Games. Participation and sponsorship have grown a lot since the beginning. In 2007, the prize was $500. Last year first place paid $275,000. The total award was $2,200,000!
